RADIESSE^®

Approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), RADIESSE^® is a minimally-invasive dermal filler designed to fill lines and wrinkles in the nasolabial region (between the nose and mouth), as well as improve the volume and/or contour of cheeks that appear sunken or “hollow.” Contrarily to the composition of other dermal fillers, the RADIESSE^® solution also works to stimulate natural collagen production within the skin, generally leading to sustained results that can last up to a year or more. The RADIESSE^® Treatment

The RADIESSE^® solution is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres – minerals found naturally in the human body – surrounded by a water-based gel. During treatment, the dermal filler will be injected into targeted areas on the face utilizing a thin needle and local anesthesia, if needed. The entire procedure typically takes about 15 to 30 minutes to complete, but this timeframe may vary depending on the number of areas being addressed.

RADIESSE^® Recovery and Results

Following the RADIESSE^® procedure, some bruising and swelling may occur; however, these symptoms should dissipate shortly and most patients are able to return to daily activities fairly quickly. Results will typically be apparent immediately, and due to the stimulation of new collagen production, they generally last as long as one year, sometimes two. When the effects of RADIESSE^® eventually begin to diminish, an occasional “touch-up” treatment can be received to maintain optimal results.
